This is my Digipak for the album of my selected song, I used dark colours to link it with our music video. The colour scheme I used benefitted my work in ways such as linking the original artists album with mine.

Aswell as all them adverts I went onto NME website to view album reviews as I thought it could help me out with my advert, It wasn't a very good review so I decided to use my own intiative and create what I thought would help advertise the CD.

Pictures for digipak and Advert

We went out and took a range of photo's, the images reresent our artist in the way that it shows she's different and it also links with our music video idea's.

Whilst deciding which pictures I wanted to use I thought about how I could add and show similarities between mine and the original artists work, I also wanted to link my digipak image to the advert I'm going to produce.

Album covers

On top of producing a music video I also have to create an advertisment and a Digipak. To help me out on idea's for a digipak etc I looked into the artists album cover and I found this helped me out with what sort of cover I wanted to produce and how I want my artist to look within in the cover image

I looked at the album cover, the back cover and the actual CD. This is the original cover and its gave me great Idea's for the image, font and colour scheme of my own cover. Theres also a cover for the Live version of her songs and I thought if I looked at this aswell as the original it would broaden my idea's.




There is a great difference between the back covers but I like the differences between both the cover and CD its gave me a lot to think about.

audience feedback

Audience Feedback is important and allows us to see positive and critical points, this will allow us to make changes to our work benefitting our audience.

To recieve feedback me and my group plan to publish our video onto youtube and from there post the link to facebook, I feel youtube is a successful way because people who don't know you will comment on it and share there views honestly where as friends may not be so honest incase they offend us.

As well as using social networking sites and the internet we showed the video to our media class and got written feedback from everyone.

health and safety

When filming the fire scene we had to think about health and safety, when thinking of this we thought of Location as we didn't want to film somewhere that was a huge hazard and could case the fire to spread, but we also needed to take into account that it needed to fit in well with the location of our filming. We chose a big empty field, the whole idea of it being surrounded by grass fitted in, incase it got out of hand we had a bucket of water not too far away so we could put the fire out. We also had to think about the safety of ourselves so we made sure we wasn't wearing anything flammable and we used long matches enabling us to light the dress at a distance, however everything went well and smoothly and after filming we put the fire out.

Filming Process.

For the filming process we needed it to be mid dark, not too dark as we would't see much in filming but we did need it a certain lighting for it to give the right mood in our video.

Finding time where all of us within the group and our actors were free added to problems with filming. Another problem we faced was how cold it got and it was unfair on the actors who had to wear a small amount of clothes.

Darkness was a huge problem, it limited us on what we could see in our filming and we even had to use a torch in some parts of filming although it added some great effects. On top of that I found when doing tracking shots I'd run into things without seeing them as it was so dark.

All of these problems resulted in our Filming being delayed and it took us more days than what it should have taken.





We took a few pictures what included images of me putting Ella's contacts in; Ella doing her make up me filming and Becca tying rope round Ella. These pictures were taken to show the sorts of roles we all played throughout the filming process.

Audience Profile

The idea of an Audience profile is who I think the Video is aimed at, the things to think about is Age, Gender, Occupation etc...

Age - 14/25+ I don't think anyone younger than 14 would enjoy watching the video as they may not understand it where as people 14 and above have a better understanding

Gender - Female. Men may choose to listen to it however I feel its more aimed at Females with the style of the video and the story of it.

Occupation - Maybe students or people who like the Festival/Gig enviornment, its quite an unusual vidoe therefore I feel eople with unusual imaginations would enjoy it.

We tried the dress and make up on our main character to see what she would look like before filming.

Before producing the video I took into account I'd have to research more to see Florence and The Machines style video's they produced, I also wanted to look at other A Level Video's to see what Florence A level Video's had been produced.

Florence and The Machine hasn't produced a Video to Howl therefore we will have to use our own intiative and produce a video from what we feel will fit in with the lyrics and song.

This video is of Florence and the Machines 'Rabbit Heart' When I first watched this the beginning confused me and I felt it didn't link but when it turned into the idea of it being fantasy I felt it was a good piece.

This is a video produced to the song Florence and the Machines 'Swimming' I personally don't think this video fits well with Florence style, They re-used many of their shots and on top of that it didn't fit the lyrics.

This Video is an A level piece of Florence and the Machine 'Howl' I thought by looking at this it may help to think what we could do differently in ours and I wanted to see what similarities we had in our planning to their video outcome.

After looking at all these video's It has enabled me and my group to capture what sort of Genre Florence is, her unique style and the idea of her Music Video's being based on something surreal, we can now go and produce a Video in which we think will link with lyrics and the artists style.

This is a spider diagram of our chosen song, On it you can see the characters we plan to use, Ideas for costumes and location and the variety of shots we could use.

Me and My group decided upon the song 'HOWL' by Florence and The Machine, we done a spider diagram of which included the characters, costumes, location etc we then printed off the lyrics and wrote down our shot lists of which we will work from when shooting the clips After that we drew a rough sketch of the story board and what we imagined our video outcome would be.

Idea's for final Music video

We split the page into two as we was torn between whether we wanted to do a music video to a new song or whether we wanted to use the same song as our practise one, I feel if we was to re shoot our other one but use different characters then it could be really good. The fact we didn't get our practise video finished is also another reason why we would like to start the same project again.

If we was to do a new song then we will have to think of what storyline matches the song and its lyrics, We like the idea of meaningful lyrics.

Our Brief for Final task

Our Brief was to select either a movie trailer or a music video, my group selected music video.

We have to create a music video to sync with a song, we will also have to individually create a digipak to link with this and on top of that an advertisment for the CD

This is my practise Digipak task, I decided on making it a blue shaden aswell as distorting them a bit, The reason I chose the blue shade was because it was quite a dark song with dark lyrics therefore I felt the blue colour reresented a depressing mood which puts the point across.

Before creating the digipak, after taking all images I then explored the CREEP single of Radioheads so I could get the idea of how many tracks to include on my back cover and I also felt I needed to have knowledge on the record label Radiohead was with, I looked at the text that radiohead use to represent thereselves and I tried creating a similar style.

Audience profile

with the Radiohead song and video Idea I feel the type of Audience it would aim at would be girls and boys in their teens.

The lyrics are a way of showing how individuals may feel and its an easy way for them to escape, maybe someone who feels they may be different

Our next task was to a practise music video before we started our Main one, My group got the song Creep by radiohead, once filmed and edited it will be uploaded onto youtube.

Due to techniqual difficulties with the camcorder we was unable to get our clips onto the mac so when we eventually did we had a limited amount of time to edit. If we had, had more time we would have added more transitions to make the video as run smoother. We also would have added subtitles to help the viewer.

Me and My group done a powerpoint presentation on the Urban Tribe 'PUNK' we produced this slide show and was influenced by Michael Maffesoli's theory on Urban tribes.
